The group was formed in April 2009 immediately after the announcement of the pilot schemes by the Scottish Government and met at 2-3 weekly intervals. It role is to develop and deliver the restored performance and develop sustainable management arrangements:
So far we have: - Surveyed the site. - Researched its history. - Brainstormed possibilities about the benefits, possible uses and potential of the site. - Obtained a site plan, preliminary structural drawings and outline cost estimate. - Informed local people and carried out a questionnaire to assess the views and preferences of individuals in our community. - Identified other areas for community engagement. - Investigated some possible funding sources. - Identified community groups, arts organisations and other potential stakeholders. |
